My name is Mark and I am a psychotherapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor, specialising in Transactional Analysis.
Originally from New Zealand, I settled in the UK 21 years ago and now live near Kelso in the beautiful Scottish Borders, an hour south of Edinburgh.
My practice has developed around a relational approach to psychotherapy, with Transactional Analysis at its core. Increasingly, my work draws on somatic and bodymind approaches, recognising that what we experience and communicate is not always held in words or conscious thought. I bring these different strands together according to the person I am working with and what emerges between us.

Often in life we can go unnoticed, unrecognised or misunderstood. In psychotherapy, I begin by listening closely to you and your experience, developing a relationship in which you can feel seen, heard and understood for who you are.
Whether we work face-to-face or online, your experience remains at the centre of our work. From there, we can begin to explore what brings you to therapy, the patterns that may be shaping your life and relationships, and what you would like to change.
"Mark is an honest compassionate and empathetic therapist. His wisdom and openness helped to clarify my thoughts and feelings during some of the most traumatic experiences. His fundamental support and empowerment has helped me to develop new approaches to aid and manage my emotional and mental wellbeing. I will be eternally grateful to Mark who has helped restore my faith in humanity."
